About
I have always had a passion for wood , which is why my love of music made me embrace the career of a luthier . In Germany, for seven years, I ran a music store and a guitar repair shop.
Nothing to do with the job I previously did as an apprentice production engineer in a German car parts manufacturing plant.
At the end of 2000, I arrived in Berry and settled in Argenton sur Creuse. It was there, in 2012, that I created my first pen to offer as a gift to my mother.
Since then this passion has become my life.
I started creating prestigious wooden pens (mahogany, walnut, oak, lime, exotic wood, boxwood, elm burl, ebony): unique models , hand-colored, decorated with ink drawings or inlaid with gold .
Each piece of wood has its own story , it is very important to me.
The objects are then varnished with a brush, each piece is unique and requires up to twenty hours of work.
My creations are aimed at all audiences, from individuals to collectors to writers all over the world.
Since July 2024 I have set up my workshop in the very pretty village of Chedigny in the heart of Touraine .
Each wooden pen is crafted in the workshop with its own story, that of an encounter, a discovery, or a crush...
- The Elm Burl was discovered in a sawmill abandoned for several years under a mountain of dust.
- The Oak Wine Barrel comes from a red wine barrel, it is naturally tinted by the wine giving unique nuances to the material.
- Mahogany is reborn from a piece of furniture found in an abandoned house.
- The Oak is a beam from the Château de Chabenet.
- The Mirabelle plum tree is a tree that fell in Gerhard's mother's garden in the Black Forest.
- The Walnut is taken from a French walnut tree stump from Indre.
Every day can be a new encounter...
